FAQ: What about Your Fees?

This is the good part for you. I don't count hours. We work towards specific objectives to improve your business. We establish the qualitative, quantitative and personal impact my help and support are expected to have on your business. I say "expected" because you are the decision maker, so the final say is always yours, thus the end results depend on you not on me. But in a just universe, we always get what we expect.

You basically make an investment in your future according to your expected ROI. If you invest in a palace, we set out to building a palace, not a doghouse. If you invest in Dom Perignon, we set out to make Dom Perignon, not carbonated horse piss. Either way, you'll get a good return on your investment. And it's up to you what you invest in.

When you engage my services, you tap into intellectual property, intuition and experience that would take you years to develop in-house. If you add up all the qualitative and quantitative value you receive through my involvement, my fee is just a tiny fraction of the money you are gaining or stop losing. Besides, you pay me once but you reap the benefits as long as you stay in business.

Remember the line from the Mercedes commercial...

"It is not what you pay, but what you get in return that counts. "

And Mercedes has become a market leader with this point of view. Nuff said. So, if you are not perceived as the Mercedes Benz in your industry, maybe all you have to do is changing your investing habits, and instead of cheap you can focus on the good. Deep down you know what you stand for and what you offer for your clients and customers: Cheap crap at low low prices or great quality and great value at premium prices and fees?

The most important traits of a knowledge worker, like me, can't be measured in hours of activities and poundage of deliverables. They must be judged and discerned. Characteristics like interpersonal skills, passion, desire, motivation, innovation, creativity, risk-taking, knowledge, and pride may not show up anywhere on a firm's financial statements or timesheets, but they are the traits that will ultimately determine the fate of the firm.

Sadly, the world is full of idiots who focus on inward efforts, like tasks and activities, and not outward values and outcomes.
